So in Pre Cal we're doing circles, ellipse, parabolas and hyperbolas. I'm having problems understanding it all.
There's a set of questions that say write an equation in standard form for an ellipse with center (0,0)
1. vertex (5,0), co-vertex (0,-2)
2.Co- vertex (0,-8), focus (6,0)
3. Co-vertex (4,0), focus (0,-3)
4. Vertex (0,-9), focus (0, 3?5)
Somehow I understood the last one. I found a and b and what not but I can't seem to solve the others. I get seriously confused with the vertex, co-vertex mumbo jumbo. What's the difference between them?
Someone PLEASE help me!! I'd GREATLY appreciate it
Thanks a bunch in advance
