I am doing my ETP(engineering team project), and my project is smart cloth drying. This system already exists but i planned adding some modifications.
First of all I'm planning to put water sensor to sense the rain, which send logic"1" to motor, that closes the cover through rotation. When cover is closed, a dryer begins to work(I will use a fan instead of dryer for my prototype), and when there is no rain the motor rotates in negative direction and opens the cover, fan stops working. I also plan to add solar cell for providing energy during the day, and saving some energy for night. Main advantage is safer cloth drying in countries where a lot of rainfall, and also saving some energy after that.
My main problem is how to stop motor when the cover clothes and opens fully. I was planning to put manual switch, but I think it is a bit ineffective. And about solar panel do i need some kind of accumulator to save energy during the day. By the way i study in Malaysia, so there is rain and sunshine everyday.
