Electronics - Phone/Battery Charger Charger?

Im studying electronics at school, and make alot of projects at home aswell. The trouble is i eat through 9 volt batteries really quickly.

I want to find a phone charger or other device charger like that, where i can plug it in the wall, and know the cables coming out the other end are safe to work with.

All i have at the moment is a s4.9 volt output sony ericson phone charger, but i need the 9 volt output.

If anyone knows of a device charger that outputs 9 volts, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
 
Well phone/battery chargers are good for just that, charging. The output of these sources have a fair amount of "ripple" and can cause electronic circuits to misbehave. Best to save up for and search radioshack for a "regulated" 9 volt power supply.
