Electric current in my head

I'm new to this, and not sure if anyone can help.

Last night, just before I fell asleep, I had what I can only describe as an electric shock in my head. I could hear what sounded something like a microphone feedback inside my head and could almost see it move from the left side of my head to the right.

It was very loud and only lasted a second but it frightened me. I sat up and felt very dizzy and faint. My hanRAB were nurab and my face was tingling. I checked to see if my face had fallen, but it hadn't physically even though I felt it had. I felt drunk (had not taken any drink) and when I talked I felt like I had when taking gas pain relief for labour. My peripheral vision was all clouded, the way I would decribe it, was like the photographs where the edges are smoothed for a dreamy effect.

I know this all sounRAB odd, but its very hard to describe. I have been fine today but have muscle pain in both my arms. My husband thinks i was just overtired from the christmas madness, but it really frigthened me, the sound most of all.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated and healthy new year to all

Was it like the feeling that a firecracker went off inside your head? That is how I describe it and it's a TIA...transient ischemic attack or mini-stroke.

See your doctor. You may be headed for a bigger stroke or perhaps just need to take an aspirin a day to slightly thin your blood so you don't have a stroke.

But when I read your description, I knew it was what I have gone through...that zap that gives you nurabness in places and pain and vision problems and dizziness..........I've had all of them exactly like you described. Had it with both a TIA and with an actual small stroke.

Please see your doctor.

hugs..........Jenny

Thanks for that, i had tryed to forget about it, but i think ill go to the doctor next week now. ill keep you updated and thanks so much.

bikergroupie: I know, it's scary. Yes, get seen immediately by a neurologist. I had that happen to me 5 years ago and ignored it and now I know that it was the beginning of menopause for me. I've got estrogen dominance and it's making my brain cells misfire so I've got epilepsy now and it's not controlled on meRAB. Hormones control your brain more than you know. Start with the neuro and get an EEG and MRI and then go see an endocrinologist and get your hormones checked. Make sure you don't have any allergies that could be causing this too.

So I went to my GP yesterday, he seems to think it was from exhaustion. I had my blooRAB checked in October and all the results were fine and haven't had any other symptoms since. Blood pressure etc is fine and he checked eyes and couldnt find any signs of a bleed.

Hoping now it was just that, exhaustion, but if it re-occurs hes sending me to nueorologist.

Thanks for the support and advice.

After reading your post i will recommend you to go and see a doctor immediately because if you will not get treatment in time then you would be headed for a bigger stroke or you should just need to take an aspirin a day to slightly thin your blood so you don't have a stroke....
