My physics class requires we do an egg-o-naut as a project, and i need some help for ideas, and materials. by the way, an egg-o-naut is a bottle-rocket with an egg strapped to it (a "bottle rocket shooter" is provided). We have to keep the rocket in the air for as long as possible, and we also need the egg to survive upon landing, the longer the rocket is in the air, the more points . What I was thinking of having the rocket with a parachute on top somehow, with also some balsa wood wings, maybe the wings could somehow separate by the time the reach max height. But, anyway what do you think? what materials should i use for a parachute, or holding the egg down, or other ideas?

Been done before - most successful projects used styrofoam padding for the egg and larger parachute to slow the descent and soften the landing. folding wings which unfold at top of trajectory might be good especially if they are like Batman's wings. plastic shopping bags are light weight and strong and carbon fiber rod for struts to hold it's shape.
