Effexor

Does anyone take this? Have you had success?

Im thinking about switching from Prozac, or increasing my Prozac dose.

My friend takes Effexor and she really likes it... I was wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences or adverse experience.

And what is the difference between SNRI's and SSRI's? Why do some work better than others?

I tried Effexor in the past but it didn't work for me. Ofcourse it is different for everyone... you could try it if you want but I suggest if you are happy with Prozac then don't change.
 
I am not happy with prozac is the thing. I want to see what my dr. thinks I should do.

I have heard a lot of great things about Effexor... so just curious.
 
I'll I know is look at some of the withdrawl issues with this drug, I hear things can get pretty bad for alot of people.

Although I did hear that while on effexor alot of people got some postive resukts from it.
 
Effexor is a fairly good antidepressant but the withdrawal is terrible. I went through 2 weeks of h***. Even my doctor said it is hard for some people to come off effexor.
 
I've been on it for about 2 months, it is good but fully does not take the anxiety away. I went through some horrible withdrawals from Paxil and had to be on something else and with the Effexor everything disappeared.
 
WELL, i didn't go on Effexor. My dr. said to hold off on it. We have decided to increase my prozac dose to 40mg for awhile to see if it helps. He said Effexor is hard to get off of and that if I wanted to start it, Id have to wean off Prozac which could be a terrible idea right now! Since I am going through some stressful times.

I DO have an appt. with a CBT therapist on the 24th, so hopefully prozac and cbt can get me straightened out.
