I'm learning about M1 and M2, and my book gives vague description.
I understand that M1 is liquid money like cash. What are some examples of M2? Would it be like credit cards, stock, shares?
What is the difference between a checking and savings account??
What happens to M1 and M2 when you transfer money from your checking account to your savings account?
Or when you sell your shares of a stock? Would M2 decrease?
Or withdraw from your checking account and put it in your savings account? Would M2 increase and M1 decrease?
Thank you in advance to all those who are willing to help with these questions! =]
