a few days ago, i bought a cellphone from ebay. the bidding ended at $184 US and the seller told me that he can ship the item for free. however, i asked if he can ship it express because i want to receive the phone asap. he told me to add $18 and he will ship it express, he said it should take about 24 hrs, or 48 hrs the most. two days after making a payment, i messaged him to confirm if the package was sent out already. he didn't respond to my message, but left me a feedback on ebay. i waited another two days and messaged him again. once again, no response... then he finally messaged me today and said that he had an unforeseen family emergency and didn't have the chance to go on the computer. however, the package was sent out today. the thing is, i paid the extra $18 for this item to be shipped through express, so i can get it before the weekends. also, i think he's lying because he said he didn't have any chance to do any work on the computer due to this family emergency but he had the chance to leave me a feedback on ebay. should i demand a refund for shipping? since i didn't get the item within 48 hrs after payment, like he promised. i will probably receive the cellphone by monday which is a week since i made a payment. pls let me know your honest opinion! sure, $18 is not alot of money but if you convert that to canadian currency, it would be around $20+ and i could buy more stuff on ebay.
