Ebay fairings... any thoughts?

Alright, I've been looking into some ebay fairings because honestly... i really like the black 1098 fairings. =P

But does anyone have any opinions on them? Anyone ever tried on a set?

I've heard mixed reviews on these fairings.

One story goes, that the molds used are factory molds, but the fairings themselves were factory seconds. Some people have had good luck with them, others have had some serious fitment issues.

Its kinda like russian roullette. never know what you're gonna get.
 
I'm closing a deal on a red one on monday and if all goes well... I'll have my $5000 1098

Oh btw... do any of you know anything about the carbon fiber fairings on ebay? I was thinking about purchasing some but I'm kinda scared to because I've heard that there were some fake carbon fiber fairings floating around

I'd like to get some racing fairings for my 1098 and I really dont known which way to go.
Some sellers on Ebay seems to have the least expensive.. (pls note they're only $450 and they charge another $250+ for shipping...)

Hot Bodies have fairings for $649... but no holes for the lights in case you want to ride on the streets..

does anyone know what is the best option?
 
It does look like a bargain, full fairing kit for less than 500$!
Have you looked at the feedback history from previous buyers? If the fairing is crap they should say it.
 
not sure.. those sellers have thousands of transactions per month and you can get lost on all those feedbacks.

the thing is those fairing are $450.. but you end up paying almost $700 after shipping.. I would much prefer buying local made fairings for $6-700.. maybe for a better quality?
