Eating 12 small meals a day an even better idea?

I know that eating 6 or 7 small meals a day is the most efficient way to lose weight and keep it off, but what if I were to eat 12-14 even smaller meals say around 100 calories each, every hour. Is this going to speed up my metabolism by constanly feeding or will it bog me down?
