how about 'the taming of the shrew' from shakespear? it has a monologue in the end, and it is not that hard to memorise and also it has emotion as Catherina is talking about how much her husband means to her and all that...
it is about a page and a bit though, you could probably ask your teacher if you could only do half of it.
