Ears plugged after flying hearing greatly reduced

I had a cold last week and flew home from Chicago Sunday. During decent my ears plugged and I could not hear. The pain subsided on landing but my ears are still plugged 2 days later. I can hear some who is speaking directly to me but ambient noise I can't hear. The world is very quiet, I feel like I

Try taking an antihistamine, that might help. When I flew back from Europe several years ago my ears were plugged for several days. It will eventually clear up. From now on when you fly, especially if you have a cold, try using EarPlanes. They have helped me greatly.
