Early U.S. History topic?

I have to do a semester project for my E.U.S.H. class and I can't think of a good topic. It has to be something about England and the colonies in the 16 and 1700's, but it can't be on specific wars or battles. It has to be on something cultural, but all the obvious things like food and weapons have been taken. If someone could give me some ideas that would be great. Thanks!
