Early American History.. more-so "mobs" or "riots" ...Traditional or Revolutionary?

So I recently finished a research paper on early American history and I was curious about other peoples opinions on pre-revolutionary riots. So do you think they were traditional or more revolutionary?
 
That's an interesting question and I think the answer lies within the individual participating. Not all participants in the numerous protests wanted independence, they just wanted a better sense of fairness.
