ear piece for cell phone? use bluetooth or ear buds ?

I have a straight talk cell r355c samsung ,,,,looks like a wannabee blackberry (but soo not) i want a handfree ear piece but not sure which one to get if they work for all kinds of different cells or just a specific one like chargers do. does a blue tooth work ok... kind of spendy....
