EA: 500k-800k PS3s in US in '06

Its not like microsoft didn't do the same thing. But this is sad on sony's part, they should have learned from microsofts mistake last year.

No its just the fact that if you cant put consoles on the shelf, they wont sell.

And once again, sony furbishes a lie so that consumers rush out to get a ps3 they -expect- to be there, but isnt.

By doing this , they raise the demand over the supply falsely. The demand was not good for the ps3, just like the press. But, since its a hard to aquire item due to a ficticious demand which is created by short supply, people have to get this "rare" item.

And i think back to how people ranked on ms for the short supply of 360s. BAHAHAHAHA. Every fucking sony fanboy was chiming in on that wernt they.

Fact is, to sell fucking consoles, they have to be on the shelves for people to access. Nintendo and Ms seem to be the only ones capable of this "feat".

Ya the 360 was short in supply at first. It still had a bigger launch though, and worldwide too. The PS3 came a year later, so Sony should've realized that they might not have enough units and shouldn't have projected so high.

Ofcourse Nintendo cranked out enough units, most of the Wii components are just revisions of Gamecube components (the CPU is a die shrink running at a higher clock speed).
