e71 housing is chinaontrade.com legit ?

yeah im 99% sure your right about it being gray.....(im ok with it my phone is dinged up)

I really want to purchase but I can't find any info on the site .
the ordering process feels kind of weird to me 1st you select the item you want to purchase then they email you an invoice asking you to send the money through paypal
Does that seem legitimate ??

I had the same questions you did about this website and was surprised to find that there were no reviews online for this website. So I just sent them 25 bucks as an experiment. I'd love the red phone backing that I bought but i'm expecting this to simply be fraud. the way I see it the $25 is worth it in the name of getting this issue cleared up or - if it's legit, getting an awesome backing for my phone.

The reason it's sketchy:
After you complete the checkout process online, they make you send a payment to [email protected] which is actually a guy named Morozov Alexander. He's only had that paypal account active since 4/29/09 which is weird because of how legit the site looks. Now what really blew my mind was 3 minutes after sending the payment I got a phone call from Paypal fraud prevention saying they wanted to verify that I in fact made that transaction and was "In control" of my account. Not sure if that is an indication of fraud or just the fact that my buying stuff in china flagged something in their fraud system.

Either way we'll see what happens. I'll keep you updated and blow up the blogs if this is fraud. If its legit i'll let you know about the quality.

Just buy the CNN.CN housing, it's either fully OEM or so good, that I (and the rest of us who have done housing, bezel or keyboard swaps) can't even tell the difference.

You CAN'T buy "OEM" Nokia housings from anybody. Nokia simply does not sell them to anyone. Everything you see on cnn.cn and other places is a fake. That said, some fakes are better then others so YMMV.

New development this morning - I got an email from chinaontrade.com. It was basically an email saying "Thank you we have received your payment and changed your order status to 'Paid'". They did not mention anything about shipping. I replied asking when my product would ship and would they please give me the UPS tracking number.

Not sure if this is a sign that they're going to ship it but I suppose its a step in the right direction. That, OR they're just very polite and wanted to thank me for my scam payment.

I'll update when I hear more.

I'm sorry, but I would never order a housing from China. I hope it works out for you. Let us know, maybe this can restore my faith in ordering something online from China / Hong Kong again.

Great news! I got an email last night from China online saying my order had shipped. Then I got a follow up email with the tracking information.

Its actually kind of funny - they didn't send me a tracking number, they sent me a picture of my package on which was the UPS sticker with the tracking number. I guess its a little less convenient but its definitely confidence building to see a package with an official shipping label on it and my address.

All in all things are looking good. I might have jumped to conclusions too quickly on this being a scam. I'll let you know when it arrives and what the quality is.

So far they have been prompt and delivered as they promised at an incredible price. If things go well I would give my strong endorsement to this site.

More posts to follow.

So the final chapter of this story: I got the product last night. Its awesome - red iPhone 3G backing. Its great quality and comes with all the various parts you need to installing it (Red sim card holder, camera lens, ect). I haven't tried installing it yet but I don't see why I would have a problem. I actually have a black OEM 3G backing that I got in case this didn't arrive. The red case is an EXACT replica of the OEM.

I'm recommending chinaontrade.com Although they're process seemed sketchy I got what I ordered and at a great price and that's all that really matters.

Just a word to the wise dealing with companies in China, Paypal is no guarantee of protection...Best to go with your credit card, VISA/MC...I bought something that turned out not to be as advertised through Paypal (Thinking it would be protected)...Turns out, Paypal did nothing

I bought from chinaontrade a, Iphone 2g backcover.
I payed it with paypal, and see... I got it 20 days after in Germany.
The first impression was good, but unfortunately it didn?t fit that well. I had to adjust several parts, and at the end the case didn?t quite close as the original....
I wouldn?t buy a backcover here again.
