E65: Silent Mode Hot Key Not Working

Hi folks,

When I'm using the General Profile, then I hold down the hash (#) key which is supposed to activate the Silent Profile, it doesn't work.

This is not a big issue, but I was just wondering if anybody else has the same issue?

.

Does your service provider support 2 lines?

# will switch lines if it is supported. If not, it turns the profile to silent instead.

If my memory serves me correctly, this is firmware dependant based on the region your firmware is from. Try installing a EURO firmware and you should get that feature back.

No, two lines have never been available with my service provider (SmarTone Hong Kong), but on my 6270 the display would still say "Line 2", eventhough it's still using "Line 1".

However, as far as I can tell, the E65 (or at least the ones here in Asia), don't offer the line switching option - just the Silent option mode - and that's the feature I'd prefer if it would actually work.

Oh well, it must be an Asian firmware thing or possibly a bug!

Thanks!

Same. I have Asian firmware too

Weird! That's the same as both my E65 handsets, which have a globe (not a star) symbol as the "My Own Key". According to the Nokia website, such handsets are geared for the Singapore market (the battery has a Nokia Pte. Ltd sticker on it), but I actually purchased mine in Hong Kong.

The mystery continues ....

Try many Auto Keylock applications around. I recommend Handy Keylock, but you have to pay for that. There are free keylock apps around. Not sure if the freeware supports auto locking for sliding though. I'll check and see, but I can't promise I can find one.

My N73 is also Asian but this works just fine... I don't own an E65. >_
