E65 - Is it possible to close slider without hanging up call?

For those numbers that are not in my contacts, I would open up the slider and hit the numbers and talk. Is it possible to close the slider after I hit the call button without hanging up the call? I prefer to have it unopened (slide closed) during conversation.

Yes it is.

Just press the left Option key and then close the slider. It will not hang up the call.

Actually it's in the E65 User Manual on Page 19, but I would've preferred the option offered on the 6270, whereby you could totally disable the slide from affecting calls in progress.

It's a pity such simple and useful features are not offered on Series 60 handsets.

On the N80, you close it before the call connects . . . however I just use Contacts anyways so I have no need to open then close it.
