I have tried to find the code for the E62 hard reset... *#7370# doesnt work, neither does powering on/off while holding "call + 3 + *"
*#7780# just resets to factory settings, but doesnt WIPE the handheld..
any suggestions?

figured it out, if you make a mistake typing *#7370# and backspace / change it, it doenst work. if you type it in correctly the first time, its a charm. thanks

LMFAO......we can only wonder how many times you must have mis-typed it to force you to post the problem. Sorry but that's just FN funny.

Hopefully someone here can help me. I spent all of last night on different forums, here, nokia, etc and haven't found an answer. Minutes ago I just got off the phone with a tier 2 tech at nokia. I have had my E62 for a few weeks now and it has been working flawlessly. A few days ago I started noticing that "file corrupted" would show more often. I cannot install, or uninstall any themes or apps whether it is on the memory card or the phone, whether transferred via over the air, directly to card, etc. I even tried to uninstall apps that I know work for sure. Even those won't uninstall. It reaches the popup box with the remoavl progress bar then goes to "file corrupted". I know it is not corrupt because the app works perfectly. So, after seaching forums I called Nokia. Eventually got a tier 2 tech. We did a reset *#7370#. It really didn't fix anything. I was under the assumption that this would wipe the phone and bring it back to the state it was in when I first got it, you know, wipe out anything I installed, apps, pics, videos, email accounts, etc. They were all still there after the reset. They said based on my serial number it is under warranty. I am here as a last ditch effort before having to send it in. Anyone else have this problem or know of any resolution. Is there indeed a way to wipe it clean to the original state? Thanks in advance guys.

I've owned numerous s60 phones and the *#7370# had worked everytime to completely wipe out the phone, except recently I had a E65 and I ran into the same problem you have. All the different codes didn't work. I eventually had to manually wipe out everything on it. Weird.

You could try to flash the phone again using the Nokia software updater.

I think his problem was that he was entering the wrong code in and rather than starting clean he was deleting the wrong character. I imagine you were typing in the correct code and that is odd that it didnt work.
