E62 and audible email notification

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and if it is a known bug? I'm using Mail for Exchange with my E62 and if I turn off the popup mail notification it seems to also disable the audible and vibrate notifications? Has anyone else noticed this or am i doing something wrong?
