E61 - Sending email fails

Hi,

I'm trying to send mail via my E61 and it's failing. Settings are correct for the mailserver. IMAP4 receive works (same mailserver/login/etc.)

Is this because I have the $5.99 plan? I can browse the net, so at least that seems to be working as well. Curious if maybe outgoing email is blocked with this plan.

I doubt your problem has to do with anything related to your feature or plan.

Some emails accounts require that you log into the email account and check email prior to being able to SEND on that session. Try and simply CONNECT to the account (without trying to send email... if there is anything in your OUTBOX, move it to drafts first, then CHECK email). While you're still connected after CHECKING email, go to DRAFTS and choose SEND and the email should send. Problem has to do with Authenticating on the server PRIOR to sending.
 
a lot of IMAP servers don't allow sending emails from outside the network.

For example, if you use a university IMAP mail server, you can only send out emails from within the campus.

If you want to send mail out from outside the campus, you need to find an alternative SMTP server like gmail.
