If you go to www.gmail.com.app you can download the Java client for your mobile phone. IT works except for in some keyboard input fields, the keyboard doesnt work - it only recognises the numbers: confusing this device with a normal nokia keyboard phone layout. Any way around this? (it happens in another java app on my phone - it's just not been tested right).
the Gmail app DOES work on Nokia E61. BUT there is a very annoying problem, which I have seen on other Java apps on E61. Since the E61 has a full keyboard, sometimes the java program wants to use a phone numeric keyboard layout (where the letters have to be cycled through).
so in gmail.app, the problem is weirdly only in the Send to contacts box, where it pulls up your contacts email address.
e.g, I wan to send an email to my friend [email protected], so when I type in the letter j it doesnt work, I have to hit the number that on a normal phone would have the letter j on its key. REALLY ANNOYING. It's a simple issue of the java program thinking it's a Nokia device and guessing, wrongly, the configured keyboard for it.
