E61 error "Messaging: Memory Full" but plenty of mem when I check

This just started yesterday. Every time I attempt to access messaging I get the error, "Messaging: Memory Full. Close some applications and try again."

Unfortunately I am getting this with no applications open. When I check the memory status I have 52MB free on internal memory and 1.7GB free on my 2 gig card. Web browsing and other applications on the phone work without any problems.

Anyone know why this happens and what I can do about it?

Maybe the memory for messages is full? Not sure if that's possible. Check your Inbox, and delete some if needed. Good luck!

Try to empty the cache.

it means that your ram should be running low, your internal storage may be fine, but the memory to run the actual application is low. just reboot the phone and it will be fixed. try to monitor how many apps you have open on the phone when this happens

Thanks for the responses. Rebooting and deleting some older emails seems to help. The thing that threw me off is that it is happening when I am not running any other applications at all.

that used to happen to me on the v2 firmware, but not on v3, maybe update if you haven't already
