E61 Bugs even in V3 Firmware

1) If you make your own profile (e.g. to get your name on screen) and activate it, it takes out the date display on screen
2) If your Network supports "Cell Info Display" and u turn it on under network settings, it won't work (as its overlaps with Bluetooth icon) -

Both of above are very irritating bugs as there are acres of free space on screen which Nokia could have used. I was really hoping that they go away in V3 but didn't.

3) The number key bug - renders several 3rd party apps (Calcium, Currency Convertor of Worldmate) useless as u can't enter any number in them without holding on to the blue fn key with the other end. This bug is actually introduced by V3 firmware and its quite surprising as Nokia's own calculator and converter apps still work well. They did something strange in key mapping which broke only these 3rd party apps. Hopefully there will be new versions for V3 of E61?? (S-Tetris behaves even more funny when u try to enter your name and u use number keys, try it.

3a) Actually they did something which broke something of their own too. Hit menu, earlier it was possible to use number keys here to go into various options, now it works but only with blue key pressed with one hand. Crap !!

4) PC Sync bug: During a PC suite initiated sync process, the phone will switch to sync screen (leaving the user fuming and waiting for it to be over) - This was there in V1 and is still there. (In older S60 phones this used to happen in background)

5) Still no sign of multiple alarms, no timed profile (all available in S40 phones). These are not bugs but I am hoping Nokia guys read this for V4

Feel free to add yours as well

These aren't bugs. They are just the way the S60 interface works works.

1) The date never appears in any profile other than general. Try it out.

2) The Bluetooth/IR/Wifi icons appear in the same area as the Cell Info if the Active standby is enabled. The display switches between the 2 intermittently. Disable it and they appear in 2 separate lines.

3)The number 'bug' is not a bug IMO. Its a feature, albeit annoying, of the E61.

4)This could be a bug, but its something i can live with because the probability of getting a call while I'm syncing is very low.

5) Again, this is a feature of the S60 platform. I'm sure this will be added in newer S60 versions.

Except for the number bug, these features will never appear on any current phone.

When I disconnect from my BT headset, the phone doesn't remember the volume setting when I reconnect. I have to immediately turn the volume of the headset up upon each reconnection. It's mildly annoying, mainly when answering a call in the car.

Also, I've been getting this weird app timeout warning while using the Nokia browser. I have no idea what the deal with that is. It doesn't disconnect the WiFi connection or anything. ???

I dont know about the timeout issue, but the Bluetooth problem is definitely classifiable as a bug. Pray that it'll fixed in the next firmware update, if there is one.

maybe its not a bug but its very irritating (i don't remember if this was the case in my previous S60 phone)

Actually if u disable active standby, its even bigger a bug as the BT/IR/WiFi icons disappear from the standby screen (as they are hidden behind the date line), When u hit menu, u can see them but not from the standby screen. A definite bug.

I thought of it as bug as its inconsistent. In some place (Nokia calculator) you dont have to press the blue button while in some other (Nokia menu) you have to .

I agree but what's the probability of you surfing, or using calculator or doing some setting or something like that while syncing happens. I am new to the phone and almost always doing something on it while syncing kicks in
