E50 video playback?

Hello, i've been lurking on the forums for a few months now, and I have pretty much made up my mind on purchasing the E50. (especially after seeing pics of the "metal black" version )
The only thing holding me back is the video playback.

I was told that the e50 can only play back video up to 15fps. If that is the case then I guess that is to be expected from a "business phone".

But if it CAN play back video over 15fps, can you please tell me the necessary software to accomplish this?

Could anyone who has any experience with video on the e50 please chime in and state their opinion on the quality?

no one has any experience with video playback on the e50? i find that hard to believe...

how is the quality?

I've read a couple reviews that say it only PLAYS 15fps max, but the specs sheet PDF doesnt state it.

However the spec sheet does for sure state that it only RECORDS 15 fps maximum rate. So its logical that there would be the same cap on playback.

In any case remember that this thing has a 2.0" screen vs 2.4" for the N73, so I wouldnt get too hung up on frame rate - even the screen size will prevent this from being a machine you can rely on to watch movies a lot. Small stuff is all you will really want to do on a screen that size, in any case.

However, we do know for sure that this unit is using same CPU as the N73 so it really shoud be able to play 30fps the same - unless its been crippled intentionally.

If you want to pursue this further, remember that these reviews saying it plays back only 15 fps were using the built in media player. Maybe Nokia just crippled the built in player software but did not cripple the OS.

So you may want to check if there is a 3rd party media player available for S60 and whether than can play back 30 fps.
 
to play a 30 FPS file on the E50 and the video was choppy....but it played. very choppy.

I will try 15fps to see if that works....but the nokia spec sheet says 15fps only.
