Your loss - some people have these problems, but many more dont. And its nothing to do with firmware -its a quality control issue. I have had same firmware as people having these problems and no evidence of it on mine.
Put it this way: my M600i was FAR more buggy on all firmwares than either of my two E50's.
Seems there is a kluge/fix for this. I came across it on the GSM Arena E50 comments section and I think I posted it here once before, though I have not used it myself.
Do a search here and there as well, using E50-font-size-increase
