E50 Contacts Button

I'm having a problem with my contacts button on the E50 (top right side button). The left sofkey is preset to Contacts, but I noticed the top-right side button loaded it significantly faster, so I reassigned the softkey to NEW SMS. This means the only quick way I have to get to contacts is through the shortcut key.

The problem is that after a while of use, the button will stop registering and won't switch to contacts. This is really annoying and I don't know why it happens. Anyone?

Nokia seriously needs to make a firmware update for this phone to fix the billion problems that are software related and can be easily fixed (why not allocate 40MB to System RAM and require that users just have a larger memory card?)

I have my contacts ONLY on that top right hand side button (the one hard-coded to contacts) and then CAMERA on left soft button and NEW SMS on right soft button.

No problems at all with this though. Had it like that for two months now and no problems at all. I have got about 450 contacts in that database there and it pops right up no matter what screen I am in.

Any ideas on what situations make yours not work?

Do you use handy alarm/clock or any other alarm application?

These applications dissable the multimedia key for using it as a snooze butoon, but after snoozing it is not set back to the contacts key.

This is a bug in those applications.

Ah, thanks Peter. Before stopping usage last night, I tried the button and it works fine.

My alarm rings in the morning (I use Alarm Manager). The E50 just has so many features missing from a normal phone that it's just so frustrating. I don't want to have to set my alarm everyday.

Any daily alarm application that doesn't mess up my buttons?
