E.T? What is another point for my paper on extraterrestrial life?

Is there another theoretical stance in which you could support E.T.? For example, I said previously that Stephen Hawking has many theories proving the largeness of the universe and the infinite possibility. I also have that another theory is that we believe some life forms may not need oxygen, water and food... Is there another theortetical point of view used to support life existing elsewhere?
