nice, the hq builds sure make for a nice dyno sheet when tuned properly, which carries over to the street because their builds are centered around tq and let the hp fall were it may.

Hi,

I don't have all the P/N's with as I am at work. But I will do the best I can, I currently ride a 2008 FLHX. I have two Roadkings prior of which the first was a science project, too many hands and opinions for what to do. First I think is most important decide what kind of ride you want, for me a it'a a tractor motor with killer torque. I sat down with the dealers PHD tech and we picked from the SE parts list only thing out of family is the G570 CAM (gear drive) from S&S. I also went with SE heads in an effort to try to match the flow capability the CAM provides. Also Roller rockers, keeping the valve train light makes for a very responsive throttle. I stayed with SE slip on mufflers, not the CA models but they do have an EPA stamp. I live in Denver and they are checking, places I ride to are also getting picky on noise. I found out on the long road Thunder Headers can really be a pain (first bike). So, I am sure I have lost some HP with that muffler choice but I love the ride. Remember I live in Denver so we lose lie 15% off the top but I believe the Dyno had me at 90HP and 101fl lbs.

Almost forgot what is probably the most important part, TUNING! I have the SE Race Tuner and the first tuner just did not get the ob done. Coming back from Milwaukee (105th) I had some detonation etc. I went to Rocky Mountain HD, did not buy this bike there but had the previous two. Found a great young guy with talent. Understood the whole AFR (Air Fuel Ratio thnig) 14.7-1 and the Lambda. Bottom line, he did not touch the bike till we had a sit down for what was expected (my part) and what he felt he could deliver after he had ridden the bike. Another key element in that process I believe. Get to know the tuner so he's clear on your wants and needs. He not only fixed the pinging but improved all overall HP/ft-lbs numbers but also my MPG. Bike respondes much better after a proper tune. They do not use the Dyno Jet, can't remember the name sorry, Flow something I think.
