DYNO Numbers for Baggers???

My 09 SG has stage 11 with stock head pipe SE street performance.mufflers and TTS down load. It dyno out HP 91.37 Torque 108.15 I need more power . Tme to up grade my exhaust system? Well I added the V@H pipes (they are to low.... they drag making right hand truns) and sent my stock mufflers to FATSAC and had 2 inch baffles installed . redyno and it came back with about a 10% inprovment. MaxPower 97.30 Max Torque 112,48 Still would like to get the torque and hp up some ..

Yup, I'm no genius but I think if you go with the 2 into 1 Fat Cats, you will find the engine beathes better. I was not convinced until I put them on. I a bit obsessive so I bought the phantom pipe to balance the back. I'll post some pics soon. Still doing some lighting changes. One of the guys who really knows will weigh in on this soon-- I'm giving you my own expereince but I'm not a mechanic. I sent my bike to a local Indy and he did a great upgrade, but a great tuner is really important... I guess you might want to consider what kind of power you really want. If you change the pipes and get a good tune will you be happy with a small increase? If not you are going to need a bigger build. I started with a 107 now it's a 117 and it 120 HP and 135 torque... It's really nice.

Ride safe,
J

Installed Power Commander V, with Rush slip on mufflers. (sorry I just love dual exhaust). Downloaded the fuel map for Rush slip ons and Screaming Eagle air filter and intake track change. Initially had an K&N filter with a stock air box. Performance was better, but so so. Decided to go buy a Screaming Eagle intake kit to better fit the fuel map. Wow, what a difference. Deeper sound, performance in 1st through 3rd is so strong I thought the clutch was slipping. Performance in 5th and 6th now allows me to drop revs way down around 2,000 and just roll on the throttle and accelerate smoothly. Bike remains aerodynamically challenged. It gets to 110 mph quickly but tops out around 115. I'm very pleased with the way the bike is running.

With my 117 from Zippers and SE throttle and new cams... we are at 135 torque and 120 HP with a great tuner and a great Indy... This will smoke most out there... I asked for low end torque and man did I get it!!!! If you live anywhere near NJ PA or NYC this guy is the best there is and honest to boot.

'05 EGC, 35K miles. John's Performance Shop (JPS) in Port Orchard Wa. installed Headquarters 034G cams, S&S gear drive (cams), K&N air cleaner & Power Commander III USB on 3/10/09. The Brothers in Bremerton Dyno-tuned it on 4/04/09 @ 78 hp with 88 ft/lb torque.

Ok, I'm finally getting around to doing this. I started this build the week before Christmas. Finished the assembly in mid-February, finally got it tuned mid-March. Life and obstacles seemed to always be getting in the way, but the final results were worth waiting for.

This was pretty much my first engine build. I'd done about everything before on previous bikes or friends bikes, but this time I was alone in the garage with my tools and cell phone.

A huge thank you to PhilM for his constant advice and support. Thanks buddy.

This is a basic Head Quarters 103ST kit (10.5:1), along with some options I had picked up. The build is:

HQ HVP Heads
HQ flat top pistons (made by CP for HQ)
HQ 575 cams
HQ adjustable push rods
HQ Black Ops lifters
Stock Throtlle body and injectors
TP Pro-Vent Rocker boxes
Stock rocker arms
VPC 92T
SE Clutch Spring
SERT Tuned by Bob at RC Cycles in Hayward, CA

This engine/tune is really amazing. Starts easy with the releases, idles smooth, has great part throttle/low speed manners, runs cool, gets 43 mpg, and really honks when you nail it. I couldn't be happier.

Update on my tune. It was just finished.

'09 flhx with stg II 103" and my new Fatcat Boss...

I'll scan it in later but here's the numbers...

86hp and 101 tq SAE with a flat AFR of 13 - 13.2. Barely any difference than stock headpipes and Bub7 slipons - 83hp and 98 tq.

During the tune we put a clipboard a little behind the tailpipe and the hp actually went up slightly. The 2 1/2" open baffle just doesn't provide the back pressure I was hoping for, so the thought is this pipe will be very good for my next upgrade to a stg IV with higher compression pistons and throttle body.

God I wish V&H still made the pro-pipe hs for this bike.

Mine has the Basani power curve dual exaust, sorry not sure of the mufflers, SERT, SE A/C Peak hp was74.1 Peak torque was 89.3, the a/f stayed flat a little over 13 all the way thru

2003 FLHRCI
Thunder Header 2:1
Screamin Eagle air filter
Stage 1 ECU
PowerCommander USB III
95 inch big bore (HC forged pistons)
Andrews TW37G Cams
OEM 03 head work (oversize intake valves, guides, reshape and refinish ports and machine decked- 10.5:1)
Cometic .030 head gasket
SE Clutch Spring

I dyno'd 86/95 horsepower/torque.
