I was driving my sister's car stupidly just so I could sleep in my own bed with a huge storm hitting overnight, but have a suspended license. Also turned out the vehicle wasn't insured. I do get money tomorrow and will pay my sister's insurance, no matter what the cost. My question is:
Do I have to wait 'til the court date of 2/10 while the car racks up impound fees? Or can my sister get a ride, with NEW insurance card, and pay the smallest fee possible?
Basically what I'm getting at is does it matter *when* you get the insurance, whether it matters that I was driving as opposed to her, and if that ticket must be paid off before anything happens. I can't imagine they'd force me (or her) to wait for a court date 10 days away with all the impound fees, but then again I can imagine quite a bit. Also, if it matters, I was released upon rocket docket because I haven't drank in years and have had *ONE* moving violation in my life at 33-years-old.
Pointing me in the right direction would suffice---everything seems outdated. It's Linn County in Iowa. I hope I gave enough details.
