Dvd player playing vcds black and white ?????

I have a sony dvd player model - DVP-NS51P and akai (CT 2906 dix) tv. The dvd player used to play the vcds just fine but after some days when i played a vcd it started playing it in black and white. I've checked all the wire connections and the settings , everything is same as it was at the time it used to play right.
All the dvds are played perfectly just the vcds are played in black and white.
Any solution ??
