dvd keeps stopping for a short time and then play again, is there something

wrong with the dvd? i borrowed it from the library for free, so i guess people don't take much care about it. i cleaned them with a kleenex, but it still stops. i would say it's the dvd player, but i tried 2 dvd's and they both stop and then play.
