possible? How do i? Let me start out by saying yes this is a long message, but PLEASE read it!!! I really really need some insight
Well now, I'm a 16 year old female who moved to Arkansas from California a few years ago. I know emancipation of a minor can happen in California, but I'm not so sure about Arkansas...
My family is on Government money... HUD, SSI, Food stamps, because my mom is Disabled and cannot work... but I can, and i love working!
The problem is, every time i make money with my new job... HUD raises the rent, and everything becomes more expensive. We're barely scraping by, i have plans for my future, and in order to get there i want to raise my own damn money for it. I don't want to end up relying on the government like my mom always has.
Trouble is, if i keep working, bills will get higher, and ill never get to see my own money and hard work because i will end up paying the rent each month.. which isn't really fair to me. So my mom and i had a little talk... rather than quitting the job i love, we thought maybe legal emancipation could be a good way to sort this out. She needs a caretaker anyway. If i stay where i am, I'm going to end up turning 18 out of high school with not a penny to my college fund, and not enough money to move out on my own. I feel as if I'm stuck.. I would really appreciate some input. thanks for reading.
