thats what i was saying, the thing weighs 700 f!@#ken pounds, it might as well be a Goldwing. But to each his own, I guess we have a bunch of riders with hu hum "eclectic" tastes

I seem to remember that putting the rear head cover back on the V-Max was a total PITA as well - very close to the frame, and tends to dislodge the gasket as you try and fit... Definitely an acquired taste, the V-Max, and I never acquired it.
Mind you, putting the airbox back on our beloved 1098/1198s is a headache the first time as well. I guess there's nothing quite perfect in this life, 'though I'm thinking my 1098S is much closer than any V-Max or V-Rod. As for that Vyper, yuck. Do we really want that thing as part of the Ducati 'family'?

It would appear that the "Vyper" has been put on hold indefinitely (or possibly shelved altogether).

I don't know if economic reality has hit the Ducati decision makers (sales of cruisers globally are down - including HD - as the baby-boomer buyers have peaked and are beginning to dwindle), or if the negative media response has given them a "reality"-check!
