Thanks for the tips and the write-ups guys. Heading to Rome in 2 weeks and was thinking about the train from Termini to Bologna if I can convince the woman to skip Florence.
 
Well, ..........to be fair....as much as I like Modena/Bologna for all of the motorsports reasons discussed....Florence is my favorite city in the world, for all of my travels. Very cool..especially with a gal along.. I have some great tips for all the areas of Emilia, Parma, Tuscany, etc if you need more!
 
Well you had better hit Firenze. It's well worth the time. The art museums, history, Mike's statue of David, the street vendors, pubs, pizza margarita, beer, and the churches and the local hangout bars down various little narrow side streets are a must do. You can walk all of it but you need a very full day to do it. Take an extra camera battery as you'll need it.
