Ducati Monter, Suzuki Sv, Ect?????? help please?

I'm looking for my first bike i dont want a cruiser or a super sport bike. I was going to buy a new 08 Ninja 650 R but they are sold our within 100 miles of where i live, so I'm looking for a used bike that's not a super sport but something like a Ninja 650 R but with the looks of a Ducati Monster or Suzuki Sv. but what other bikes are like them? and what would be a great started bike out of those types? Thanks
im also looking at Buell, and im a pertty big guy about 6'2" 280 pounds.

Get something used and relatively cheap for your first ride.

A used SV650 will be a good ride, fun and reliable, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Another good thing about the SV is that since it's a naked bike, there's not much plastic to break if/when you drop it in your driveway.

Save the Ducati for your second bike, after you get a year or two's worth of riding under your belt. I love my Monster, but maintenance and repair on it are NOT cheap. The Japanese models last forever, and are very cheap to fix - they're just not as pretty (in my opinion!).

My first bike was a 2002 GS500 when if you look at the SV650 sitting beside it they are like little brother and big brother beside each other but when I look at our Ducati there are few similarities between our 2005 SV650 (naked) and our 2007 Ducati. The headlights are similar on all of the bikes. All three of the bikes are taller than most of the other bikes you will look at. The difference with the Ducati is that you are leaned over the tank while on the SV and the GS you are sitting up because they are Sport touring unlike the Ducati monster which is a sport bike. Go with the GS500 if you want on with farings go for one 2004 or after.
