Ducati monster 696 or 1100?

Ok I drive a 2006 katana 600 and I like it but I want something with more power, ie acceleration and speed. I mean it is a good bike and all but I find it lacking especially when doubled up.

I was love naked sport bikes and like the Ducati monster quite a bit. I am kinda torn between getting a 696 or 1100. I am just a afraid that because Ducati is a twin that I might not really get more out of it acceleration wise with the 696 or that it would be a small increase..

The 1100 unfortunately would take me another year to save for.... so I am torn. any ideas?
