Ducati Data Analyzer

I picked up a DDA from another forum member but seem to be having some issues with it. I have searched this site as well as some of the other Ducati sites trying to figure out how to fix this.

I can't seem to get my computer to recognize the flash drive. I have tried this both on a Vista and XP machine. I have loaded the program from the CD, followed the instructions and still nothing. The program runs fine as far as I can tell, but if I try to connect the USB to the computer it doesn't register it.

I went on Prosa's website, referenced the DDA section, downloaded the new software.... nothing. Tried doing the flash update, but since the computer can't find the DDA I can't update it. I have more or less downloaded everything from the Prosa website only to not get the USB to be recognized. I have tried installing everything with the USB not plugged in and with it in. I have uninstalled, re-installed and tried different points along the installation for inserting the USB into the computer and it still doesn't recognize it.

I have an email into Prosa, but from what I have read it takes them some time to get back to you. So my question to you all that have this and have had issues but finally got it to work, what did you do?

sounds like a bad flash drive. plug it in. does the flash drive show up under the start->settings->control panel->system->hardware->device manager window? you may have to uninstall and reinstall the device by left clicking on the device and selecting uninstall within the device manager window. then unplug the device and plug it back in. you should be prompted to install the device driver which should be on your installation CD. good luck.

Not that I know of. Verify that it didn't fry your USB port on your computer (plug a mouse or something into that port to make sure it still works). You can purchase a USB hub and try using that. You can pick them up for around $20 bucks. Plug the DDA into one of the ports on the hub and the hub into your computer's USB port. If that does not work, hope you got shipping insurance ;]

nyquist.

Start>Contol Panel> Administrative tools>Computer management>Disk management.

If the drive doesn't show up under here and every thing looks 'right' under your device manager then it's probably knackered. If your 'test' computers are networked and have network drives mapped then you could also have a drive name confilct with the nerd stick (flash drive) & you may have to rename the flash drive.

Yeah, my guess is that it is fried. I have been in contact with the owner and it sounds like DNA might warranty it. Guess I am glad it still isn't 100% riding season here in Chicago. Otherwise I might be a little more bummed out.

The usb thingy should have data on it before you try to use it. If you havent yet, plug it into your bike, activate it for a minute, then turn it off > try it on your (XP) pc.
