hey ive been riding for comming up to two years and am looking at what bike to get next i rode a 125 for a year then moved onto a 500cc which i will be keeping for one more year so will have two years on the 500cc by the time i get a 1098, so do you think this is a good idea or stupid? i would also like to try out track days

what the post above said....

very hard to know the skill level of a rider by what information you get on here...

Ive known riders that have been in the saddle for 5 years & riding 1000cc bikes that didn't even know what counter steering was.... or how to use the front brake & when...

so the easy answer is ...MAYBE..

Ducatis are very expensive machines, taking it to the track would not be recommended unless you have plenty of money to spare for replacement everything if it ever goes down. Keep in mind, insurance will not pay for it if you destroy it on the track. Also, you won't have any advantage on the track with a liter bike. It may even hinder your timing except on straights. Try a 600 first on the track before you move on up.
