first i want to state that i am new to dirt bike/ motorcycle riding all together. next i want to say that i am about 5'8' 5'9 185 pounds. 19 y.o.
I am interested in buying a new or used dual sport bike. the type of bike i want is a dirt bike that is fully capable of handling dirt bike worthy abuse. i.e. jumps, wheelies, all that good stuff. but is street legal for short rides to the store or just some light cruising around the neighborhoodd or to a trail. no desire for cross country or highway type rides. that said i dont want one of those big bulky d/s that look like it would break down after one bad jump landing. so i mainly just want a dirt bike that is streel legal. also money is a object but i am willing to pay a little more for quality, that being said a brand that is more reliable and easy to get parts for would be more ideal.
i have done alot of research and just havenet found that perfect bike yet
i have looked at bikes like the honda clr230 (or somethin like that) and the drz200s. these look lighter and more dirtbike ish but idk if they would be too small and weak for me. i am a beginner but i dont want a bike that is a complete wimp. also the seat height is 31.9 in. is that small for my size idk.
i also checked out the ktm 690 enduro and a bmw similar, (expensive!!) but if yall have anything that comes to mind please let me know. please take all things above into consideration. thanks alot!!
