DT 175 yamaha its like choke is back to front?

we have a dt 175 it is reving really high tryed tuneing it but we pull the choke and the revs drop like it is back too front has any one had the same problems with a dt or a simler bike ?????????? want too go riding soon so please tell me what u think
 
Sounds like it is sucking air in somewhere around the inlet manifold and making the motor run lean and rev. When you pull the choke on, it tries to bring the fuel/air mixture back to near normal, so the revs drop.
I'd be checking the inlet manifold gasket for leaks and the reed block for loose screws.
