Dry Rub recipe for ribs?

I'm trying to get away from the more salty rub and go with something a bit more like a Rendezvous flavor. I've been smoking ribs for about five years and everyone loves them but I want to ad a more complex flavor profile.I want to cut down on both the cumin and salt and give the ribs a more earthy, herbal flavor but still have the BBQ core. I use a baste but try not to add any sauce because to me that's cheating.

Add some finely ground coffee to the rub. It adds that earthy and aromatic flavor that you might be looking for. Also, get some smoked paprika and add that to the mix. You can experiment with how much to put in. But, I put together a pretty good dry rub that includes salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, granulated garlic, granulated onion, cumin, smoked paprika, brown sugar, and finely ground Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.

I like the lesser amount of salt and the combination of dry goods in this more complex rub

Ratio of ingredients (I usually make this in quart sizes starting in February):

2 cups paprika
3/4 cup lemon pepper
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup coarse ground black pepper
1/4 cup white pepper
1/4 cup onion salt
1/4 cup granulated garlic
1/4 cup chili powder

Mix all ingredients and store in an airtight container in a cool dark place. Apply to pork with a shaker right before it goes into the smoker.
