Hello.I am doing a report for biology on the effects of drugs(all of them, legal/illegal ,psychoactive, prescription meds) on the central nervous system(mainly). This means i not only have to say which are addictive and which aren't, but also the chemical/biological mechanism through which addiction settles in.If one particular narcotic "cuts" the connections between brain cells i have to mention that, and explain why.I think you understand why this is difficult information to find, there is little research and little possibility to do legal experiments on the subject(i also have the impression most people just want that side of the world to be covered by a dark cloud of mistery). So if you know any websites/books/people to e-mail that can shed light on the matter, please help.Personally i don't care why a heroin addict feels like ripping his skin off, this is sort of a punishment for expressing my opinion in class on the legality of marijuana, which lead the teacher to the conclusion that i have used it illegaly. She of course simply ignored the fact that i am over 18 and also a citizen of the Netherlands.Thank you in advance, and sorry for the horrid grammar.
