A AuntieLeela Guest Jan 15, 2011 #2 There's Antabuse, Depade or ReVia, and Campral. There's also a long lasting injectable, Vivitrol. Depade, ReVia and Vivitrol all reduce cravings. They think Campral works by reducing stress symptoms like anxiety and insomnia. Antabuse discourages drinking by making you feel like crud after you've already relapsed.

N nuttiegirl Guest Jan 15, 2011 #3 who prescribes these drugs? Outpatient centers? GPs? I don't know who to call.
A AuntieLeela Guest Jan 15, 2011 #4 Any doctor can Rx them but a doc who's a certified Addiction Specialist would probably be more comfortable than a GP who's never Rx those drugs before. Try your GP first, you never know.
