I don't know the rules for California, but in Florida, you go to the clerk of courts in your county and file for a Marchment Act. You and your son then go to court and he will be forced to be drug tested. If he isn't clean, then he can go into a detox facililty, then in-house rehab against his will for 30-90 days, depending on how well he does. Some people sent their addicts out of state for months, but had to pay for it out of their own pockets. This isn't an option for us; we have to find an insurance approve place. You might want to research on-line about the Marchment Act in your area. Baker Acting is when the police force him into a hospital, but is only good for a couple of days, so this isn't a solution for you. But it works if he threatens suicide.
