Dropped ipod at the gym, now my computer nor itunes recognizes my ipod?

Now, when i plug my ipod (80gb classic) into my macbook, the ipod says its connecting, but doesn't show up in itunes nor my computer. Plus, I can hear the hard drive moving and clicking when it tries to do something. Its out of warranty, so getting it fixed or replaced for free is out of the question. Am I to assume my ipod is dead?
 
call apple (itunes) ... their website have the phone number and they can help you A LOT
i had similar problems to you and this is what i did... u can ask them about anything related to apple products
or google "apple support " somethinglike that
 
go to apple and say it got fuked up for no reason and lie abt it den dey'll say sorry and fix it
