My brother called me earlier today and explained a problem to me that he was having.
He has a droid that he had got from verizon, But somehow he didn't pay for it. He said something about he had got the phone when he signed up for a two year contract and told me that he had set up some kind of payment plan on the droid to pay it off( I have never heard of you being able to have a payment plan on a phone. Maybe i just misunderstood him).
And he went on to tell me that the phone had been blocked by verizon and couldn't be activated until he pays for the phone. While that does make sense to me why they would block it, I was just wondering what the actual term for this was. I mean i know that their has to be a specific name for what this is.
If any one can help me with figuring out what this is called I would really appreciate it.

I also forgot to mention that he didn't pay his bill. Sorry I left that out. But he didn't pay his bill and they shut off the phone and then they blocked the phone from being turned on until its payed for.
