Driving Test and Insurance Card in Texas?

The car that I'm driving (for the driving part of the test) has an insurance card that says it's valid, but the owner has a missed a payment or two on the insurance so it's really not! What I was wondering is if they actually DO a check with the insurance company to see if it's valid or not!

I don't know anyone else that will let me use their car :(

I'm in TEXAS.
